Active Participation

Active participation is at the heart of democracy. It means that every person, regardless of legal status, social position or cultural identity, has the opportunity to actively shape the policies that affect their lives. Active participation is the heart of democracy. Presence alone is not enough. What matters is mobilizations, and the shared commitment to social change.

We believe that everyone has the right to:

• take part in public consultations.
• stand for election and take on leadership roles.
• vote and influence decisions at local, national and European level.
• represent their communities with responsibility and vision.

Democracy4all encourages individuals and communities to participate actively in:

• political empowerment events and workshops.
• support networks and spaces to share experiences.
• political campaigns that respond to community needs.

Active participation is not a privilege, it is a right. And Democracy4all is the space where we can exercise that right collectively.
